I am Amy Lu, Executive Principal of Cogdel School Chengdu, a mother, and a passionate advocate for transformative education. The establishment of Cogdel School Chengdu culminates years of reflection and experience, a response to my educational ideals and sense of responsibility toward society’s future. Leading this institution transcends conventional school administration; it is a mission-driven journey.

 

​Why did we establish Cogdel School Chengdu?

My educational journey began with aerospace engineering at Tsinghua University. As my career evolved into venture capital for renewable energy and AI, I witnessed technological leaps and societal shifts. Yet one question persisted: What approach to education will empower children to stride confidently through an AI-driven era of uncertainty?
While seeking schools for my own children, I observed systems confined by exam-centric frameworks, neglecting intrinsic motivation, creativity, and critical thinking. This inspired me to create more than a knowledge-imparting institution, a nurturing ground for future leaders committed to lifelong learning.

What defines Cogdel School Chengdu?

Cogdel School Chengdu is not just a knowledge dispenser; it is fertile ground for the hearts and minds of children, a cradle for nurturing future leaders. I hope it will become:

We care not only about students' growth but also about providing every staff member with a supportive and respectful working environment.
3.A School that Cultivates Leadership: Through a diverse curriculum and practice-oriented teaching methods, we hope every student will chart their own course in life, becoming future leaders with global perspectives, strong intrinsic drive, and a sense of social responsibility.

We have designed four core innovative courses—STEM Exploration, AI World, Arts & Culture Deep Dive, and Young Entrepreneurs. These courses allow students to break beyond the limitations of standardized tests, nurturing the courage and wisdom they need to face the unknown.
